Learn to Play Hockey
The Learn to Play Hockey program is the first step in your hockey player’s journey! This program is designed to get new skaters comfortable with the hockey skills necessary to fully enjoy the game. Beginners will learn the fundamentals of skating, shooting, stickhandling, and passing as they advance through the program. Rental equipment is included with this program, and it is generally for players from 4-10 years old, with some exceptions that can be made.
Ages
Learn to Play Hockey is for new players from 4-10 years old. Exceptions can be made for older players.
When
Practices are Tuesdays from 5:30-6:15PM and Saturdays from 10:15-11:00AM.
Where
ALL practices are held at Goggin Ice Center.
Equipment
Rental equipment is available and free of charge for all Learn to Play Hockey participants!
Sessions and Cost
We offer six sessions of Learn to Play Hockey:
Session 1: June 9-July 14 - $85 (6 practices)
Session 2: September 5 - October 14 - $160 (11 practices)
Session 3: October 17 - November 25 - $165 (12 practices)
Session 4: November 28 - January 6 - $165 (12 practices)
Session 5: January 9 - February 10 - $160 (11 practices)
Session 6: February 27 - April 6 - $165 (12 practices)

Once your player has advanced past Learn to Play Hockey, their next steps would be either House League or Travel Hockey. Visit the links for more information!

Payment registrations are now open here. After completing that registration, you will receive instructions on how to register for this site and get integrated into the Miami Youth Hockey website.
